The author’s name, Shlomo HaLevi Alkabetz (c. 1530), appears in acrostic at the head of each stanza. In this song, the Holy One blessed-be-He is called the Beloved. As the Holy One, He directs history from above in Heaven. The Shekhinah is called Shabbat Bride, Shabbat Queen, and Yerushalayim. During the week (and in general during the nighttime of this world), the unity of the Holy One and the Shekhinah is obscured. The Shekhinah is said to be in exile. Yerushalayim is in ruins and the Kedushah-Holiness of the Beit haMikdash is buried inaccessibly deep in the heart of the Jewish People.

Now, as the holiness of Shabbat descends and illuminates the world with a taste of the Ultimate Future, we turn around and face west, toward the back of the Beth Knesset, in order to welcome the Shekhinah as she rises up from the depths of exile to reunite with the Beloved. We ask Hashem to descend from Heaven, to greet the Bride, to reveal His Absolute Oneness in history. We ourselves, children of the Holy One and the Shekhinah, rejoice in the privilege of seeing a hint of the revelation of God’s Absolute Unity on Shabbat. We ask that the ultimate Shabbat (the 7th Millennium) be ushered in when that revelation will be complete, when mankind will no longer be oblivious to God’s Presence, when Yerushalayim, the City that unites Heaven and Earth, will be rebuilt. We ask that the son of David come and signal the advent of the Great Shabbat.

Decoding-Avraham Agassi
The version that I have decoded is comprised of exactly 144 words.
The Song is split in the following way:
·       One- A first line of seven letters which also doubles as the Refrain that is sung between the verses.
·       Eight- Stanzas which each begin with a letter of the author’s name.
·       One- The Ninth and final Stanza, which is the Tenth Stanza including the introductory refrain is recited standing up (reverse direction to the west) facing the back of the Synagogue in order to greet the Sabbath Bride.
The gematria of the name of the Song “Lecha Dodi”- לְכָה דוֹדִי is 79+2 words=81.
All the above teach us that the Song is encrypted in the Code of 1 and 8 as is the Torah. This is a proof that the Kabbalists of Safed in the 16th Century knew that the Torah was so encrypted.
