Prepare the Land!

להכין את הארץ

Beraishit 41.34- בראשית

34.’ Let Pharaoh do this, and he shall appoint overseers over the land, and prepare the land of Egypt- יַעֲשֶׂה פַרְעֹה וְיַפְקֵד פְּקִדִים עַל הָאָרֶץ וְחִמֵּשׁ אֶת אֶרֶץ מִצְרַיִם (2996=26=8), in the seven years- בְּשֶׁבַע שְׁנֵי (734=14=8) of plenty- הַשָּׂבָע (377=17=8).

In this verse we find in the words “he shall appoint overseers” -וְיַפְקֵד פְּקִדִים the code words for the Exodus from Egypt that Joseph related to his brothers before he died (Beraishit 50.24) - פָּקֹד יִפְקֹד (378=18):

24.’And Joseph said to his brothers, 'I am dying, but G-d he will surely redeem you, and bring you up out of this land to The land that He swore to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob-וַיֹּאמֶר יוֹסֵף אֶל אֶחָיו אָנֹכִי מֵת וֵאלֹהִים פָּקֹד יִפְקֹד אֶתְכֶם וְהֶעֱלָה אֶתְכֶם מִן הָאָרֶץ הַזֹּאת אֶל הָאָרֶץ אֲשֶׁר נִשְׁבַּע לְאַבְרָהָם לְיִצְחָק וּלְיַעֲקֹב (10,511=8counting final Zadiks, Peh, Nun and Mem as 900, 800,700 and 600).
And which Moses received from Hashem at the Burning Bush to relate to the Elders of Israel (Shmot 3.16)- פָּקֹד פָּקַדְתִּי
.
16.’ Go, and assemble the Elders of Israel, and say to them, Hashem, the G-d of your Fathers, the G-d of Abraham, of Isaac, and of Jacob, has appeared to me, saying, I have surely redeemed you, and seen that what is being done to you in Egypt-לֵךְ וְאָסַפְתָּ אֶת זִקְנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל וְאָמַרְתָּ אֲלֵהֶם יְהוָה אֱלֹהֵי אֲבֹתֵיכֶם נִרְאָה אֵלַי אֱלֹהֵי אַבְרָהָם יִצְחָק וְיַעֲקֹב לֵאמֹר פָּקֹד פָּקַדְתִּיאֶתְכֶם וְאֶת הֶעָשׂוּי לָכֶם בְּמִצְרָיִם (6741=18).

The joint gematria of these three phrases is:

·         He shall appoint overseers -  יַפְקֵד פְּקִדִים=428 or 988
·         He will surely redeem-                פָּקֹד יִפְקֹד=378
·         I have surely redeemed-         פָּקֹד פָּקַדְתִּי =778

1584=18
2144+6 words=17=8 (Mem 600)

We can thus see that Joseph already had in mind the Exodus from Egypt many years later when he was talking to and advising Pharaoh. This is proof that Joseph knew of his mission and had agreed to perform it. He had been waiting all this time for this opportunity to arise which would place him in a position of power in Egypt that would allow for his family to descend there, become enslaved there, and ultimately be redeemed from there, as foretold to Abraham in the Covenant between the Parts.
