SUCCOT -SHIMINI AZERET- PESACH-GEULAH

SUCCOT

Succot- סכות=486=18

We were brought out of Egypt on Succot –"בסוכת"  as Tishri and Nissan are a reverse mirror image of each other.

Succot in Heaven=Pesach on earth.

Succot is also known simply as Hag-חג This is a Chet (8) and Gimmel (3) for the Gimmel. In drawing a figure 8 one touches the middle point three times.

The festival is also known as “Gathering”-“Assif” –אסיף (151 + 1 word=8).

We take a bunch-“Egged”- אגד (8) of the following:
·         לולב             68
·         אתרוג         604
·         הדס             69
·         ערבה          277
1018

Now we hold 7 articles 1 Lulav, 1 Etrog, 3 Hadassim, 2 Aravot and we are the holder=1+7=8!

HOSHANNA RABBAH

הושענא רבה =639=18

This last day -7th day of Succot we circle the Torah (611=8) with the 4 species seven times asking Hashem for salvation which will come on the Eighth Day-Shimini Atzeret.

SHIMINI ATZERET=Pesach and Shavuot

שמיני עצרת=1170=1+8

These words literally mean “the stopping of the 8” or “the eighth stop”.

It can also mean the stopping of sin as “Chet” also means “sin”- חטא

The letter “Chet” is the 8th letter of the Alphabet and the only letter which is written with a crown on its top in a Sefer Torah.

The word Crown-Keter-כתר corresponds to the highest part of the Eighth Sphira-The 10th Sphira.

10+8=18

The festival is also known as “The rejoicing of the Law”-“Simchat Torah”

שמחת תורה=1359=18.

Also it is translated as the “stopping of the eight” or” the eighth stop”. Where does it stop?

At the same place where it starts-in the mid-point of the figure 8. The beginning is the end and vice versa.

This is also the same meaning as the word Pesach –“End of Het” –“Sof Chet”which is the eighth letter-end of 8.They both can also mean “End of Sin” and Final Tikkun .

On Pesach we celebrate the First Redemption from Egypt and on Shimini Atzeret we will witness the Final Redemption. In fact they are a reverse mirror image of each other as Pesach is 1+7 days and Succot is 7+1 days. Both make 8.

Furthermore on the last day of Pesach we were saved at the sea thus on Shimini Atzeret we will be Redeemed.

Shimini Atzeret also  corresponds to the festival of Shavuot called “Atzeret”- עצרת.
·         On ATZERET WE WERE GIVEN THE TORAH.
OOn  SHIMINI ATZERET WE RECEIVE THE TORAH ANEW AFTER FINISHING IT AND READ IN THE THIRD TORAH from the words “On the eighth day”-ביום השמיני.

There are 1+ 50 (8) days from Rosh Chodesh Ellul to Shimini Atzeret.

There are 1+ 50 (8) days from Pesach to Atzeret.

So “Shimini Atzeret” is both equal to Pesach and Atzeret (Shavuot).

For this reason it is a very special day set aside for the Final Redemption when we combine the Redemption power of Pesach with the Divine Revelation of Atzeret-the giving of the Torah at Mount Sinai.

Hag Sameach
