The Ten Utterances
Our Sages teach us that the World was created with “10 Utterances”- עֲשָׂרָה מַאֲמָרוֹת (Avot 5.1):
The world was created through Ten Utterances, and what does that mean to teach since the world could have been created through a single utterance? In order to augment the punishment of the wicked who destroy a world as great as this that was created through Ten Utterances, and to give good reward to the tzaddikim “Righteous”, who sustain the world created through Ten Utterances.
בַּעֲשָׂרָה מַאֲמָרוֹת נִבְרָא הָעוֹלָם. וּמַה תַּלְמוּד לוֹמַר, וַהֲלֹא בְמַאֲמָר אֶחָד יָכוֹל לְהִבָּרְאוֹת, אֶלָּא לְהִפָּרַע מִן הָרְשָׁעִים שֶׁמְּאַבְּדִין אֶת הָעוֹלָם שֶׁנִּבְרָא בַּעֲשָׂרָה מַאֲמָרוֹת, וְלִתֵּן שָׂכָר טוֹב לַצַּדִּיקִים שֶׁמְּקַיְּמִין אֶת הָעוֹלָם שֶׁנִּבְרָא בַּעֲשָׂרָה מַאֲמָרוֹת:
From the above we see that the Act of Creation through 10 Utterances was the manifestation of the Code of Life, the separation of the physical world from the Eighth Sphira, the Metaphysical World. As we have seen above this separation came about through the constriction of Divine Light emanating from the “Ain Sof”.
These 10 Utterances correspond to the 9 times that it is written “And G-d [Elokim] Said”- וַיֹּאמֶר אֱלֹהִים in the first 7 paragraphs of the text of Creation.

We must ask what then is the 10th Utterance in the passage of Creation detailed in the Torah?
The Talmud (Rosh HaShanah 32) teaches us that the 10th Utterance is the first word of the Torah “Beraishit”- בְּרֵאשִׁית “In the Beginning”
רַבִּי יוֹחָנָן אָמַר, כְּנֶגֶד עֲשָׂרָה מַאֲמָרוֹת שֶׁבָּהֶן נִבְרָא הָעוֹלָם. מַאי נִינְהוּ? אִילֵימָא "וַיֹּאמֶר" דִּבְרֵאשִׁית, הַנֵי תִּשְׁעָה הַווּ! "בְּרֵאשִׁית" נַמִי מַאֲמָר הוּא, דִּכְתִיב, (שם לג) "בִּדְבַר יהוה שָׁמַיִם נַעֲשׂוּ"
In my opinion the 10th “Utterance” is a combination of the word “Beraishit”-בְּרֵאשִׁית the first word of the 1st paragraph of the Torah as taught by Rabbi Yochanan and the the words “and G-d Blessed”- וַיְבָרֶךְ אֱלֹהִים the first words of the 8th and final paragraph of the Act of Creation (2.3):
3.’ And G-d Blessed the Seventh Day and He Sanctified it; because in it He abstained from all of His work - וַיְבָרֶךְ אֱלֹהִיםאֶת יוֹם הַשְּׁבִיעִי וַיְקַדֵּשׁ אֹתוֹ כִּי בוֹ שָׁבַת מִכָּל מְלַאכְתּוֹ(4932=18 counting final Mems as 600), which G-d created to make-אֲשֶׁר בָּרָא אֱלֹהִים לַעֲשׂוֹת (2156+4 words = 2160 =1+8).
Thus the 10th Utterence is a combination of the first and the lastUtterance as in the Eighth Sphira the beginning and the end are one. By reading the first word last and the last words first we form the sentence:
And G-d Blessed In the Beginning
וַיְבָרֶךְ אֱלֹהִים בְּרֵאשִׁית
2277=18 (Mem 600 Kaf 500)
This opinion is proven by the joint gematria of all the above:
· And Elokim Blessed in the Beginning- וַיְבָרֶךְ אֱלֹהִיםבְּרֵאשִׁית=2277=18 (Mem 600 Kaf 500)
· And Elokim Said*9
וַיֹּאמֶר אֱלֹהִים = 8127=18(Mem 600)
The number 10404 corresponds both to the word “Kedem”-קדם (144) which means “Origin” the first point of time before separation of the physical world from the metaphysical world and the word “Truth”-אמת (441).
As I have shown that the Shabbat before the Creation is connected to the Shabbat after Creation as a “double day in two halves” we learn that Hashem “Blessed the Beginning” at the end!
This is a simple explanation of the Metaphysical World in action. The blessing was written at the end but said at the beginning, and said at the beginning and written at the end.
In actual fact they are said and written at one and the same instant as in the Metaphysical World there is no distinction in time as everything is One at the mid-point of the “Ain Sof”.
This point is further proven by the joint gematria of the first and last word of the Act of Creation:
